1 Insane Off Angle for Every VALORANT Map

One Insane Off Angle For Every VALORANT Map

Do you feel like your opponents turn the corner into every site prefiring you? We've put together some off angle setups you can use to get the drop on them!

We’re a few years into VALORANT now, and players have figured out many of the most popular setups to expect as they’re pushing in and clearing sites. This has forced players to be more creative, think outside the box, and come up with off angle peeks that they can use to get the drop on the opponent who thinks they know everything. We’ve selected some off angles that you can use on each VALORANT map to catch your enemies off guard; check them out.

What is an Off Angle?

Before we can harness the power of off angles, we must first understand what they are. In the simplest terms, off angles are positions that deviate slightly from common angles and expectations. They’re not the spots that players check first when they enter a new area, which makes them perfect for ambushes.

These angles provide two main advantages: cover and unpredictability. By positioning yourself at an off angle, you can often avoid being spotted until it’s too late for the enemy. This makes you less susceptible to being pre-fired—a common tactic where players shoot common hiding spots before they can even see if anyone’s there.

Ascent – A Site Jump Up

The first angle we wanted to mention is the jump-up area near Heaven on A site. This angle is so powerful because both Attackers and Defenders can use this angle when holding down the fort. When you crouch on the first step, you can take an off angle above dice into A main or on A door for anyone entering or retaking the site. Conversely, you can get a KAY/O flash or Omen blind to Heaven to fight retakers before they know what hit ‘em.

Bind – Jump Up Box to Hookah

B site hasn’t seen much change, but it doesn’t mean an old dog can’t learn new tricks. If you crouch jump onto the box outside the hookah window, you can sit right on the edge of this box for a cheeky crouch angle attackers may not expect. It also allows you to stay safe from the utility dump that is hookah, so make sure to press D after the first kill you get from this sick angle.

Fracture – Spawn Ropes

With Fracture being such a Vertically diverse map, the angles that have become stronger play with the verticality and the designs of the rope areas. Speaking of the ropes, both the Attacker spawn areas have the best lurk areas and off angles. You can play an off-angle around the rope on either side and either go for a kill when defenders push your area or escape via the ropes to the other side where your team should be stacked.

Haven – Box on A Short

For Haven, many of these angles favor the Operator, but it doesn’t mean you can’t pull up with a rifle and have an impact. Starting with A short, the best off angle on A side of the map is on the Box you can jump up to. Usually, you want utility to support you getting here, like a Smoke deep A lobby in combination with zoning utility like Raze nade, Sova dart, or Breach stun. After you are set up in this powerhouse of a position, you can solo hold an entire side of the map until you make first contact.

Lotus – Rubble on A Long

We’re not saying that fighting for A is boring, but people do not know how to fight for A control. By that, we mean when players fight around A rubble, too many players try and use it more for cover rather than exploiting the off angle it has right on top of it. If you are an attacker or a defender, getting on top of rubble will give you a significant edge over your opponents since it is such an aggressive off angle player won’t expect. We will warn you, though, this will be the hardest off angle to fight for since A side of the map is easily the most contested on Lotus.

Pearl – Half Wall on A Secret

If you want to get free kills across Pearl, say no more! When you are anchoring A site, you can play two off angles in one spot, which we say are both equally good. You can either go on top of the half wall near secret and play aggro from there, although you will be exposed to an art push, or you can play that angle as a headshot angle into A main.

Split – Right Side Vent

The right side vent on defense is arguably one of the best close and far-range angles you can take, depending on the enemies’ tendencies. For example, if enemies like to push into vents or mail, you can punish them with a judge from this angle, given the correct supportive utility like a smoke close or a sage wall. On the other hand, it is also great if they have lurks and you want to hold mid with an operator from an interesting location.

Try these off angle setups out, and as you put them into practice, try to look for other off angles that you can use. Also remember, if you fall prey to an off angle that an opponent uses on you, keep those in your back pocket for the future because they clearly work!
