Vantage Quick Guide – Abilities, Tips and Tricks for Beginners
Legend Overview
Class | Difficulty | Tier List Rank |
---|---|---|
Recon | Medium | C Tier |
Vantage’s entire kit is designed to keep her at a safe distance sniping away at her opponents. Her tactical ability Echo Relocation is a great tool to get out of harm’s way and reposition on the fly. Her ultimate is also a fantastic tool for her team with the marking feature. Any player looking to pick up Vantage, remember that she doesn’t provide much in terms of close-range power and struggles on some maps as a result.

Strengths
- Vantage’s tactical ability Echo Relocation is a versatile tool. It can be used to take high ground, escape bad situations and even engage enemies.
- Vantage’s ultimate ability Sniper’s Mark can be a powerful tool to quickly take down a single opponent with a coordinated team.
Weaknesses
- Vantage’s kit locks her into a playstyle that relies on long-range engagements, making her much less useful in close-range fights. Players will also need to make sure they’re landing their shots accurately to make the most of her.
- Vantage is a map-dependent legend. She thrives with her sniping utility on an open map like Storm Point but struggles on a map like King’s Canyon where sightlines are short and movement is more important.

Tips and Tricks

Tip #1 – Leaving a Mark
Vantage’s ultimate ability Sniper’s Mark is a fantastic tool for dealing damage, but also for marking opponents to enable teammates to deal more damage. This is why communication as a Vantage player is so important. When using her ultimate ability, you should be aiming to tell your teammates who you’re tagging and try to set up a team fire. You’ll quickly notice with this tip that you’ll be gaining advantages in fights, through simple coordination and communication.
Tip #2 – Planning Ahead
Vantage has great escape and engage potential with her tactical ability Echo Relocation. One thing that not all Vantage players consider is that her Echo companion can be pre-placed before it needs to be used. This is particularly useful in defensive situations when you want to push a team. Let’s say you want to round a corner to chase down a player you got low. This is a risky play, and Echo Relocation can be a great tool to ensure you don’t overextend and lose your life. When utilizing this tip, you must maintain a line of sight with Echo, so if you’re pre-placing the companion, make sure to actively move it as you advance in the fight.
